Privacy Policy
What data Thai Route Guide processes, the single cookie it uses to remember your language, and how to contact the operator.
On this page
This policy describes what happens to your data when you use thairouteguide.com. The site is operated by IMPADX (contact details at the end of this page). We have tried to keep it short and to describe only what the site actually does.
Summary
- We do not require an account and we do not collect names, email addresses or payment details through the website.
- The site uses one functional cookie to remember the language you chose.
- We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages read, language, approximate country, device type). It sets its own cookies. We do not use advertising, tracking pixels or social-media plugins.
- The web server keeps standard technical logs for a limited period to keep the site running and secure.
- Links to other websites are governed by those websites' own privacy policies.
The language cookie
When you visit a page in a specific language, or choose a language from the menu, the site stores a cookie named NEXT_LOCALE containing the language code (for example vi or ja). It is used only to send you to the right language the next time you open the site without a language in the address. It contains no personal information, is not shared with anyone and expires after one year. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings; the site will then fall back to the language preferences your browser sends.
We never use your IP address or location to choose a language.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records technical information about each request: the IP address, the time, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page. These logs are used to diagnose problems and to protect the site against abuse. They are kept for a limited time and then deleted, and they are not combined with other data to identify you.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (the Google tag, gtag.js, property G-Z41ZCXF9BQ), a service of Google LLC, to learn which pages are read, in which languages, and roughly where and on what kind of device visitors are. When you load a page, your browser sends this usage data to Google's servers, and Google sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*, kept for up to two years) to recognise a returning browser. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We look only at aggregated reports to improve the site; we do not use advertising features and we do not pass the data to anyone else. You can stop the measurement with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Google explains its own handling of the data in the Google Privacy Policy.
Fonts and images
Fonts and images are served from our own server. Two third-party scripts can load: Google's gtag.js for Google Analytics (described above) on every page, and 12Go's search-form script (from cdn0.12go.asia, with place suggestions from 12go.asia) on the booking page only. The 12Go form sends your search to 12Go when you submit it; 12Go's own privacy policy then applies.
External links
Our guides link to transport operators, airports, attractions and booking platforms. When you follow one of those links you leave this site, and the destination's own privacy policy applies. We have no affiliate or referral arrangement with those websites, and we receive no information about what you do there.
Email and telephone
If you email or call us, we use your contact details only to answer your message. We do not add you to mailing lists.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data about you. Because the website itself stores almost nothing about you, in practice this applies to any emails you have sent us. Contact us and we will help.
Changes
If the site starts doing something new with data, for example if another tool is added, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
